Freezer Meals Exchange Group: News Feature and NEW Giveaway!

Today I was featured on our local ABC affiliate television network along with my freezer exchange group friends. You can check out the news story by clicking on this link. Afterwards I participated in a live Web Chat which was a lot of fun. You can read a transcript of that exchange by clicking here.

I know it sounds simple, but I buy my meat (or chicken breasts) in the biggest pack available, then cook all of it at the same time. We eat what we need for that night's meal, but the rest goes in the freezer to jumpstart another day.

My favorite meal is also chicken enchiladas. I can easily make a big batch, freeze them and pop them in the oven on those nights when I need a little help.

  3. Carla says

My favorite freezer meal is meatballs. There are so many ways they can be used as a meal or in a meal. Tip: I like to do a little bit for the freezer instead of a specific day. A few chopped veggies here, a couple extra baked goods there, cooking a little extra meat, etc…

my favor freeze friendly meal is dumplings!

I could use some serious help in this area. I have Fibromyalgia, RA, will be having a baby in May and after was just informed i will be going through testing because my doctor thinks I may have cancer…I have no clue how to plan ahead for meals. I'm completely clueless in planning a shopping trip that is planned in advance. I saw you and your friends on the morning news and was excited just to come to your site and see what it was all about. Thank you for having this site for "dummies" like me lol.

  6. Vicky says

Just saw you on TV! My big freezer go-to is soup, but I would love more ideas and would like to try and get a group of my friends to do this!

I like to prepare dried beans in large batches then freeze them in portions so if I have a recipe calling for cooked beans I can use those instead of canned.

I have a second freezer in our basement. It's there, waiting for brilliance to shine upon it. But so far I have failed it. I try to freeze soup, but we tend to eat it so fast, there is little left to freeze. theindy4 at sbcglobal dot net

My favorite freezer tip is to make multiples if you have a good for the freezer recipe. Enchiladas and pot pies are my go-to freezer meals and it's just as easy to make 2-3 as it is to make 1.
