Smoothies are our go-to beverage for breakfast and snacks. I love that you can throw in all sorts of fruits (and even vegetables!). We like to customize ours depending on our mood with other ingredients like juice, milk, yogurt, honey or peanut butter. This Triple Berry Banana Green Smoothie is full of flavor and nutritious ingredients which I love.
Simple Smoothie Ingredients
You can use fresh berries when they’re in season or frozen berries work just as well too. I have a variety of frozen berries from the wholesale club in my freezer at all times. And this smoothie has a “secret” ingredient–spinach! I have found that I can easily throw in a handful of spinach into a smoothie and you really can’t taste the spinach. My family really doesn’t mind it either.
If you want to add a boost of protein, you can add a scoop of your favorite protein powder or two tablespoons of Greek yogurt. This will make it a bit creamier but still delicious.
It seems as though there are TONS of smoothie recipes out there. But I especially love this Triple Berry Banana Green Smoothie because it is simple and SO delicious. Plus, there is no added sugar–it all comes from the berries and juice. And with berry season in full production right now, it’s a great time to take advantage of all the berries out there. My kids and I all gave it a double thumbs up.

A smoothie is a good way to hide some veggies 🙂

I love adding spinach to smoothies and especially good when it is hidden by beautiful fruit colors.
