PR/Media/Advertising Policies

UPDATED MARCH 30, 2012!

This blog was borne from my own obsession desire to learn more about and practice meal planning that would hopefully save me time and money in the kitchen as well as help me find ways to try healthy new recipes and involve my family in the process along the way. And, given the fact that I am an information junkie, I can never seem to stop looking for new resources and ideas for myself but also to share reviews of those products that align with that quest. Following are a few more specifics on my policies.

PRODUCT AND SERVICE REVIEWS
I do accept and keep free products, services and other items from companies and organizations. However, this compensation will never influence my honest opinion of such items. When reviewing a product or service that I have received as a promotion, I will always disclose that fact. Authors, publishers and other product manufacturers/sellers are welcome to contact me for my review policies and pricing. I do charge a percentage of the retail market value of the item or service sent to me for review (because I need to pay taxes on those items no matter what!) However, I love sharing new products and services with my readers that may help them eat healthier and save time and money in the kitchen and generally make our lives easier so I look forward to working with you!

GIVEAWAY POLICY
I have scaled back on giveaways but I do like doing them here and there. If you are interested in providing a product or service please contact me! Vendors/businesses: YOU are responsible for shipping directly to the winner. I do not accept items shipped to me whereas I then turn around and ship the item to the winner. That is a headache that is not worth it. When a giveawy ends, I will choose a winner randomly and send their contact info. to you for shipping the item/service details.

I am rather picky about the products I accept for review or giveaway. I am happy to review those products and/or books that meet my criteria and align with the overall purpose of this blog. Please be thoughtful when you contact me…if you contact me because you have furniture or some other random, non-kitchen related service or product, I will treat that email like spam and not return it. I will I will be honest with my opinion but won’t do a review of those products that I wouldn’t want to tell my readers about in the first place! No sense wasting our precious time so I prefer to focus on those things that can really help my readers!

ADVERTISTING/SPONSORSHIPS
Thank you for your interest in advertising on Meal Planning Magic. I offer very reasonable monthly and quarterly rates on square 125×125 banner ads. Your ad will appear on the right hand side bar with a link to your site. All advertisers are accepted per my discretion and should be relevant to my blog. I do not accept link exchanges nor link placement “ads”. My readers are interested in simplifying their time in the kitchen but also learning to eating healthier and spending time with their children in the kitchen. Please use my contact form  to receive pricing information.

AFFILIATION ADVERTISTING
Note also that I do have affiliate relationships with certain advertisers. These advertisements will appear in the sidebar of my blog and although I do choose advertisers that hopefully align with the overall theme of my blog, I am not responsible for the content within the ads. I have chosen affiliation networks that I believe align with my blog and will hopefully appeal to my readers. I currently participate in the Amazon affiliate program and display advertising from the PlateFull, Unruly Media and Foodie Blogroll networks. The (little) income I make from these services helps compensate me for my time spent writing and also the basic fees associated with running a blog (like hosting services).

GUEST POSTERS
I welcome other bloggers and writers to write guest posts for my blog. Guest posts should be relevant to my blog on the topics of kitchen or cooking related organizing and food preparation, cooking with kids, healthy eating, saving money on food, etc. Guest posts will be posted per my discretion and within a mutually agreed upon timeframe. Feel free to contact me with your ideas. Emails received with no idea or suggestion or with ideas not relevant to the topics listed will be treated as spam and will not be answered.

The views and opinions expressed on this blog are my own. Any product claim, statistic, quote or other representation about a product or service should be verified with the manufacturer, provider or party in question.

Please don’t hesitate to contact me should you have any questions or concerns.

Thanks!
