30 Day Gourmet’s BIG Book of Freezer Cooking Giveaway!

The holidays are just around the corner and one thing I’ve been doing these past few days is making my mental list of all the items I’ll be making in an upcoming freezer session. Sure, I’ve got my freezer meal swap group, but the holidays are extra busy and one thing I started doing years ago was filling my freezer so that we could have healthy meals on the table but still take time to enjoy many of the special activities happening during that time of year. It’s a practice I encourage all of you to do–even if it’s only a few extra meals to get you started (remember, baby steps, right?)

I’m giving away a copy of 30 Day Gourmet’s BIG Book of Freezer Cooking to ONE lucky winner! (U.S winners only-sorry to my International readers!) You can read my review of this book and learn why this is one of my most favorite books to get started with freezer cooking.

I like freezing cookies, pancakes, waffles during the holidays for a yummy sweet treat at the drop of a hat.

  2. Janet Birt says

I want to start a freezer group for variety. I want to expand my family’s meal horizons. This would be especially helpful during the holidays when we have time to linger over a family meal.

  3. Shellie Miller says

I totally love the ultimate in freezer cooking…dream dinners…my tip is they have recipes for 3 or 6 servings…always defrost 1 or 2 more portions of meat to prepare with it because the sauce is plenty.

  4. Malissa Larson says

I always have such great plans to freeze meals- but have a hard time finding good meals to make… This book looks perfect!

I follow you on FB and your website is a shortcut on my iPad!

  5. Missy C says

Ahh, there are so many things I love about freezing meals. My favorite thing is when I make a casserole or something like Mac & cheese, I have found it requires no extra work to make two and keep one in the freezer. I love being able to pull dinner out of the freezer that required minimal work!
Another fav is to freeze that last serving of a leftover dinner instead of tossing it in the trash…for leftover night there is always something for everyone and everyone seems happy;)

I don’t currently do freezer cooking, but if I did, I think it would help me be more prepared when I am short on time, and everyone wants to eat NOW!

  7. Patricia says

I would love to do more Freezer cooking. I love the idea. It would make life easier when time is a constraint. Thanks.

This book would be great compliment to my other new addiction… Couponing. I would love a resource like this to use for ideas to get rolling on homemade freezer food meals.

  9. Ann says

I’m enjoying following you on facebook! I had left a comment there about freezer cooking – not sure if I should have left it there or here??

  10. Ann says

Ok, so it looks like I should post my comment here. This book would be so helpful in helping me fill the freezer as we anticipate the busy holiday season as well as the birth of our second child!

  11. Daedrae Watson says

I’m so excited to discover all the baked goods that can be frozen, this will be so helpful at holiday times!

  12. Lori Steininger says

What’s not to love about Freezer Cooking? I’ve learned so much over the years and am still perfecting the craft. One of my favorite tips is to freeze casseroles in an 8×8 pan (most recipes that say 9×13 can be made into two 8×8). Once frozen, pop them out and slide into a Zip lock bag. When you’re ready to cook, take out of the freezer and put back in the pan to thaw. You don’t have to buy disposables and your pans are not forever lost in the freezer.

Our freezer exchange group is going to try a cookie exchange in December. I’m looking forward to being able to take a variety of cookies to holiday get-togethers, but only making one kind! :)

  14. Carey Gregg says

My favorite freezer tip is to let whatever you’re freezing cool to room temp. before putting it in the freezer. Prevents those nasty ice crystals from forming on the top of the food during freezing!

  15. Rebecca A says

When I can buy meat in bulk I prepare it for future meals and portion it out (dicing ham, browning ground beef, etc.). For the holidays, I bake cookies and freeze ahead of time so I can pull them out for trays at Christmas.

I am new to freezer cooking! So excited to turn our freezer full of beef (from home-grown cows) into a freezer full of meals. I’ve got our recent harvest from our garden that needs to be used too! I’ve ready to go, I just need the ideas! I also recently bought a pressure cooker and am excited to use recipes from freezer to pressure cooker. Tried a couple and it is fantastic! I’ve already been 10 days straight without eating out! That is a new record for me and my family! Its great to know I am serving healthy meals and saving money!
