For many of us, when a new school year rolls around it’s almost like we make New Year’s resolutions just like in January.
“I will make more of an effort to feed my family heathier dinners”
“I will make my kids better lunches.”
“I will try to plan my meals more often so we can save money and our health.”
You get the idea. Even if you don’t have children at home or in school, much of the media is focused on back-to-school, you can’t help but get caught up in it all! And if your plans include looking for some new (and family-friendly!) dinner recipes to try out, look no further.
To help you achieve your goals (and also just because I love this cookbook!), I’m giving away TWO copies of Family Fun’s special issue, Dinnertime! (see my review here) to TWO lucky readers!

I love to make baked chicken, mac n cheese, and a vegetable when I want a quick dinner.
I love the crockpot… and deli chicken!
This sounds like a great cookbook – always looking for fast and easy recipes.

My favorite way to get dinner on the table in a hurry is to freezer cook. I do a lot of extra cooking- like this week I made tacos one night for dinner and made extra meat and beans and when we were done I made up some burritos and put them in the freezer for us to pull out another night for dinner
My fastest way to get dinner on the table is spaghetti. My son loves extra sauce and of course my DD wants no sauce, but it's fast and easy. I will put together a salad while the pasta is boiling.

There are a lot of people listed.
Spaghetti is my default quickie meal, too! I buy hamburger meat in bulk when it is on sale and brown it with onions and drain it. Stick it in the freezer and can then throw it in a skillet with a jar of sauce to get dinner on the table in the time it takes to boil the noodles.

I have a Turkey Chili recipe that isn't really chili but more of a turkey skillet concoction that I serve over rice. That's my favorite quick dinner, but spaghetti probably happens more often.

Crock pot dishes are the best. Easy clean up, too.

I love making stirfries, since the kids love them, and you can have dinner on the table in 15 minutes flat!

I really love using the crockpot to make quick and healthy meals for my family. I work full time so I prepare the food the night before, put it in the fridge & then pop it into the crockpot base as I leave for work. Healthy food is awaiting us when we get home so it nips any "let's just do takeout" suggestions in the bud!

The best way for me to make sure I can get dinner on the table quickly is to plan, plan, plan. I create a menu every week and shop from the menu. I am not one of those amazing women who can just look in the pantry and throw something together. Never works! When I have a menu, I don't have to waste any time trying to figure out what to serve.
I only found your blog a couple of weeks ago, and I love it! I am already an email subscriber.
I always make sure we can have breakfast for dinner, or a quick chili mac or grilled cheese–for those nights when all goes wrong!

I like to cook once, eat twice (or more!) The chest freezer in our house gets a pretty good workout. Nothing better than taking a frozen homemade meal out, popping it in the oven, and having dinner ready quickly!
