Back To School Giveaway!

Today is my Facebook birthday–yay! It was on this day last year that I put up my Facebook fan page and 380+ Facebook fans later here we are–thank you all!

In honor of my Facebook birthday AND back-to-school, I’ve got a giveaway for you! Included in this prize package are some items that will make packing a lunch a little more fun! It includes one each of the following:

–Dip & Snack Container (as mentioned in last week’s guest post about Healthy Lunchbox Ideas)
–Heart-shaped Sandwich Cutter
–Heart-shaped lid design sandwich keeper
–Yellow lunch tote (it’s not insulated but it’s very cute!)
–Package of Four Reusable produce bags (as mentioned in my Go Green post last spring)
(I realize the colors are little girly so if you don’t pack lunches for girls and you win, just give it to a friend who does!)

Here’s How To Enter:
1. Leave a comment with your favorite quick and easy on-the-go lunch ideas.
2. Become a follower of my blog (link is on the left of this page)
3. Like Meal Planning Magic on Facebook
4. Email subscribe to my blog.
5. Blog about the giveaway and leave me a link to your post.
6. Update your Facebook status with a link to this post.
7. “Tweet” about this post.
8. Vote for my blog at Babble.com’s Best Mom Food Bloggers (I’m currently on page 2, #69 but hopefully your votes will move me up!)

Remember, leave a comment for each entry. Only one entry per person per method listed above. If you are already a follower or subscribe to my blog, you can still have an extra entry–just mention that in the comment. Good luck!

I love to chop up fruits and let my little girl use her yogurt as dip. She asks for that in her lunch everyday.

I have usually had my kids purchase their lunches at school but this year we have switched to taking lunch (for my middle two kids who are in elementary school). I work at their school and take my lunch as well. We are learning new things as we go (just had our 5th day back today). My kids usually take peanut butter, some fresh veggies, grapes or another fruit, and a cheese stick or something. We are learning to fix as much as possible in the evening and do them in "assembly line" fashion so that we don't forget anything. Working out ok so far but would love to read the tips from others to learn more ideas! THANKS MUCH!!!!!!!!

Pizza sandwiches! Use small biscuit cutter to cut out small rounds from whole wheat bread (usually get 6 circles for 3 sandwiches). Drop a bit of leftover spaghetti sauce, a piece of pepperoni and some shredded cheese on each sandwich. Nuke for 10 seconds to melt cheese and there you have it. My son LOVES it.

My DD loves the build it yourself sandwiches. I send the buns buttered, lettuce shredded, cheese slices, sliced tomatoes and cucs. She likes that nothing is soggy and it is requested often!

WOW – what a great giveaway! I LOVE using tortillas for making their sandwiches – they are sturdy enough that my 5 and 6 year old can help spread the base and help assemble as well. With them insisting on taking cold lunch this year I would really love to win this:)

We love packing lunches in our house. Each of the kids has their own sandwaich wrap and matching snack bags. We put as much together as we can the night before to save time in the morning.

Here's my tip: To keep food warm in the food Thermoses you linked to in your green blog post, I use a two-step process. First, I boil some water in the microwave and pour it into the container and put the lid on. I let that sit for about 10 minutes to heat the container up. Then I heat the food itself. Pour out the water, wipe the container dry, and put the food into the container. It's still nice and warm several hours later at lunchtime!
