I first heard about Saving Dinner: The Menus, Recipes, and Shopping Lists to Bring Your Family Back to the Table when I discovered the Flylady method of keeping my home clean and trying to organize my life. The book is set-up to provide you with everything you need to make dinner on a weekly basis: the recipes, serving suggestions and categorized shopping lists for each week of meals. Within each weekly meal plan there are sidebars with tons of tips on how to save more time in the kitchen or at the grocery store.
Thirty-two weeks in all, each section is organized by season. There are menus for Fall, Winter, Spring and Summer. Of course you can mix it up however you like but if it ever feels like a “soup kind of day” then turn to a cold-weather section and find a menu plan that works for you! Thai roll-ups, Crock Stroganoff, Skillet Pizza, Great Greek Salad and Marinated Flank Steak are just a few of the hundreds of recipes to choose from.
Want more? The author, Leanne Ely, hosts a weekly Blog radio show you may want to check out. You can also go to her website, SavingDinner.com, and subscribe to weekly menu plans to be delivered directly your email box. There is a fee for this service but I do have a friend who tried it for several months and she found it to be very helpful! There are lots of options to choose from…Breakfast or Lunch menus, Holiday menus, Freezer cooking menus and even vegetarian, low-fat and many more!
So, if you’re looking for a way to get meals on the table with less stress, check out Saving Dinner and it may be the solution for you!
