I picked this book up recently and even though I was actually looking for something else it just jumped out at me! It seems I can never have enough kid-friendly recipe ideas. If you have children (or grandchildren!) you can probably relate! Edited by a registered dietician the first part of the book discusses WHY our children should eat healthier (some of it may be nothing new but I especially like the the scientific approach that addresses general pediatric health, self-esteem and basic nutrition).
Not just a book of recipes, the editors offer presentation ideas that make eating more fun….like Smiling Baked Oatmeal, Peter Pumpkin Pancakes, Crunchy PB and a Wrap, BLT in a Bowl, Brain Power Salad (broccoli), Veggie Mash and Fast & Fruity Mini Tarts. Breakfat, lunch, snacks, dinner and party menu ideas are all included here.
I will defnitely be making many recipes from this book–it’s a winner!
