Menu Plan Holidays!

Since the next couple of weeks will be busy with holiday fun, I thought that instead of doing a Menu Plan Monday this week, I would talk about what makes our holiday mornings special but still easy.

Do you have a special holiday breakfast item? Our Christmas morning usually means cinnamon rolls and fruit salad. I’ve tried different recipes over the years and am thinking about trying a new make-ahead recipe this year. You know I’m all about making it ahead! What’s nice about making breakfast ahead is that we can have something special but not have to worry about it while we’re opening presents. Here are a couple I found that look good:

Make-Ahead Cinnamon Rolls (make these totally from scratch but use your bread machine)
Easy Make Ahead Cinnamon Rolls (this is even easier as it uses frozen bread dough to start with)

Add a Fruit Salad that you’ve made ahead and your favorite protein (scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, etc.) and you’ve got a yummy breakfast with little effort.

Are you serving a crowd while company’s in town? Make breakfast time a little easier with a Make Ahead Breakfast Casserole or check out these crockpot breakfast recipes. Last year I was in charge of breakfasts while visiting my inlaws–the whole family was there which meant nearly 20 people! One morning I had a breakfast taco bar and another I had oatmeal staying warm in the crockpot with all sorts of toppings (raisins, dried cranberries, chopped nuts, brown sugar, etc.) so people could eat as they woke up. It worked out great!

Happy Holidays!

I have a Breakfast Cassorole recipe from Taste of Home Cookbook. It’s great for a potluck.
